Monetisation

How Circula Makes Money

Circula is built as an infrastructure platform that supports healthcare services, not as a marketplace for blood itself. All revenue is generated through added value around coordination, access, and digital tools that improve how institutions and individuals manage blood needs.

Most of Circula’s revenue comes from percentage-based fees applied to the services it facilitates, while hospitals and organisations can also subscribe to access advanced management features.

Access to the Circula network is available to all verified institutions, allowing them to view national blood availability.

However, if a hospital or organisation wants a dedicated dashboard to upload, track, and manage its own inventory, it must subscribe to the platform through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model.

This subscription gives them access to real-time data entry, internal records, wallet tools, and AI-powered planning features.

Other revenue streams are based on activity within the ecosystem, where Circula takes a percentage of each transaction or service it helps complete:

  • SaaS Subscription Fees

Institutions pay a recurring fee to access a private inventory dashboard and internal tools. Access to the national database is free, but subscriptions unlock full functionality for daily operations.

  • Processing Coordination Fee

Circula takes a percentage from the processing fee already charged by hospitals or blood banks per unit of blood, in return for handling the request, verification, and transaction.

  • Delivery Coordination Fee

When Circula arranges instant delivery of blood through third-party logistics providers, a service fee is included to cover platform coordination and support.

  • Donor Data Services

With user consent, Circula may generate revenue through partnerships involving donor engagement or health services based on verified donor data.

  • Rare Blood Fulfilment Fee

Special handling fees are applied when fulfilling requests for rare blood types that require more time, search effort, or delivery urgency.

Circula’s model focuses on supporting the healthcare system while building sustainable income through the services it enhances. As the platform grows, these revenue channels can scale with volume, reliability, and trust.
